Description:

The Boeing 757-300 is a medium- to long-range narrow-bodied aircraft that was manufactured in the late 1990's. With a fuselage stretched 23.4 ft longer than the -200 version, the 757-300 was the longest single isle twin jet ever built. Northwest 757's utilized Pratt & Whitney 2037 engines which produced 39,000 lbs of thrust per engine. The 757 has a glass cockpit and state of the art computer flight systems that were way ahead of its time when the plane first hit the market in the 1980's and 1990's. Northwest received its first 757-300 on July 22, 2002 and primarily used the type domestically though certain models were ETOPS qualified on short- to medium-range transcontinental routes. Northwest flew the 757-300's until the merger in 2009.
