Description:
The Airbus A330-200 is a long-range wide-bodied aircraft first manufactured in 1998. The -200 variant is slightly shorter than the A330-300 model and so has a lower passenger capacity but longer range than it predecessor, the -300. It is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW4168 engines with a thrust rating of 68,000 lbs of thrust per engine. It uses the digital 'Fly-By-Wire' flight control system which utilizes two off set joy sticks for the Captain and First Officer sides of the cockpit. Northwest took its first delivery of the A330-200 in July of 2003 where it flew a variety of Asian routes until the merger in 2009. In this time, Northwest became the largest owner and flier of A330s in the world
